Building Support Program

  1. Quality Assurance Program
At MidAmerican Building Services, we believe that providing consistent, high quality cleaning is dependent on three key factors:

    • a quality cleaning staff;
    • quality supervision;
    • quality communication with the client.
  2. Cleaning Staff:

All cleaning staff are full-time professional cleaners who go through extensive training, both on the job and in the classroom.

  3. Quality Supervision:
All MidAmerican supervisors are veteran cleaning professionals. We believe the supervisor is the most important part of the service equation. They have the greatest familiarity with each site, and within the MidAmerican system are given great latitude to make quick operational decisions regarding their accounts.
  4. Quality Communication:

At MidAmerican, we maintain regular and close communication with our clients.

    • Daily checks by site supervisors in all areas of the property to insure proper cleaning procedures are being carried out.
    • Inspections by the area supervisors 2 to 3 times per week.
    • Monthly Quality Assurance program, which is an inspection conducted by General Manager and checked off by facility contact to ensure cleaning is up to customer satisfaction.

Building Supervision Procedures

  1. Building Crew:
    • All crew members are full-time employees.
  2. Site Supervisor:
    • Provides on-site quality assurance and reports directly to the Area Supervisor.
    • The Site Supervisor details the evening schedule, addresses points of concern and provides a nightly spot inspection to assure every detail is being attended to. The Supervisor is also available to provide additional labor hours as needed.
    • Additionally, the Site Supervisor is responsible for building security and logging all key cards in and out. The Site Supervisor also provides on-going training and supervision for all cleaning personnel in regards to privacy regulations and procedures.
  3. Crew Leader:
    • Performs as a working member of the cleaning crew. This person has additional experience or skills that increase his/her value to the cleaning effort. In addition to general cleaning, the crew leader assists the Site Supervisor in overseeing the crew and providing quality assurance. The Crew Leader’s focus in “attention to detail”.
  4. Cleaning Crew:
    • Are trained cleaners with a minimum of 1 year cleaning experience. The crew works full-time, performing normal cleaning activities on a nightly basis under the supervision of the Crew Leader and Site Supervisor.

Security and Hiring Practices

MidAmerican insures a secure environment at our client facilities through sound hiring practices and training.

  • MidAmerican is an equal opportunity employer.
  • Employees assigned to secure facilities are subject to background check through Background Check America, a national background check firm.
  • Employees are also required to submit to random drug tests (if deemed necessary by Management)
  • All employees are subject to a 6 month training and probationary period.

Employee Turnover Rate

Due to the full-time make-up of our labor force, MidAmerican experiences virtually no absenteeism or turnover with our crews, the two most significant detriments to consistent quality cleaning.

  • 84% of our employees have worked on the same account for at least the last 12 months.
  • 87% were absent 2 days or less during the last 12 months.
  • 89% did not miss a day.

Training Program

  • Since 1997, MidAmerican Building Services has utilized an innovative training program developed by Johnson Wax.
  • It is a comprehensive program involving 6 hours of introductory classroom instruction.
  • This is followed up by our own on the job-training program where new employees work directly with lead workers for a 6-week period to learn the basics of the cleaning system. The lead worker submits weekly reports on the progress of the cleaner until he/she is deemed ready to take on a full workload.
  • Both lead workers and the Site Supervisors then monitor the trainee until their 3-month probationary period is over. At that point, the trainee works an additional 3 months under the supervision of the lead worker. After 6 months of training, the employee is considered a trained employee.

Uniform Policy

  • MidAmerican Building Services has a strict uniform policy that allows for easy identification of authorized personnel.
  • Staff is required to wear blue MidAmerican Building Services shirt, tan khaki pants, and covered shoes.
  • The only head wear that is permitted is MidAmerican Buildings Services ball caps.
  • All of our staff will have a photo Identification card visible at all times.
